William Webb filed an application for a Confederate pension based upon his service with the Charles City Sourthern Guards, later Co. K, 53rd Virginia Infantry. His application stated that he entered the service in May 1861 and worked on the breastworks on Mulberry Island. Later he waited on officers and cooked. He left service when captured in 1864 by Gen.
