Prior Washington is believed to have been a slave at Oak Hill Plantation. He is buried in the slave cemetery there along with his wife, Dilsy Washington, and children Robert F. Washinton and Eldridge A. Washington, all of whom are known to have been Oak Hill slaves. If Prior was not an Oak Hill slave then most likely he was a slave at either Sherwood Forest or Sellwood, neighboring plantations.
