According to a family history Jonathan Quivers was the wife of Sarah and the mother of five children, Sarah “Polly” Kemp, Lucy, Eleanor, Coy and Emanuel. He is believed to be the only “Jonathan” listed in the Signer’s inventory as slave no. 54, a 23 year-old blacksmith, valued at 70 pounds sterling.
