The slaves were Harry, age 60, Nanny, age 60, Robert, age 48, Betty, age 55, Pat, age 35, Silvey, age 14, Clarissa, age 12, Hannah, age 9, Lucy, age 8, America, age 7, and Lucretia, age 3. Charles City county Deed Book 4, p. 141. Clarissa is believed to be Clarissa Hampton, listed as certificate no. 25 in the Charles City County Register of Free Negroes and Mulattoes.
