Enlisted at the Chesterfield Courthouse in 1780 and described as age 24; 5′ 9″ tall; planter; black hair; hazel eyes; fair complexion; born in and a resident of Charles City; enlisted 3 DEC 1777 for 3 years. Enlisted in the 1st Virginia Regiment under Col. PARKER and apparently served in both the north and the south, although he was sick much of the time. In Land Bounty Warrant Application John BELL states that he enlisted PARRISH for successive two and three year terms in the 6th Virginia Regiment. PARRISH died before 19 SEP 1833 when certified in court as a Revolutionary War soldier; died intestate; daughter only heir: Elizabeth PARRISH who had married John. F. BROWN. Sergeant William PARRISH served at Valley Forge in the 6th VA Regiment, Capt. Thomas Massie’s Company. He is shown as “On Command” in Dec. 1777
