Son CHRISTOPHER applied as a resident of Bedford Co., VA stating that his father was a Lt. serving as Paymaster for his regiment and that his father had married ANN AMMON(S) of New Kent Co. before moving to Bedford Co. MOON’s Land Bounty Warrant application states that he entered into serice in 1776 and continued in service until the Battle of Guilford where he was KILLED in action. The affidavit of SAMUEL ARNOLD of Charles City stated that MOON was a Lt.on the Continental line from 1776 to his death, that they were contemporaries in service and lived in the same county, that MOON was married during the war. His heirs receiveD 2,666 2/3 acres of bounty land.
