Affiants John ROYSTER, John BELL, and William WRITGHT testified that Samuel ARNOLD entered into the Continental Army JAN 1776 and left the army in JAN 1780, that he had a company of men under his command and joined the Grand Army at Middlebrook, NJ, that while in VA he was under the command of Marquis de Lafayette and was employed building flat bottomed boats to carry wagons and troops across the rivers.
